MicroTek Processes Ltd, a global provider of specialist UV systems for the treatment of fluids and juices has recently closed out a project for the treatment of recycled water for a major winery.
The closed vessel UV system and filtration unit reduces the companies water consumption by 95% with an associated saving in heating energy. Previously all water was sent to waste and not recycled. Water use has dropped from 50,000 ltrs a day to just 2,000 ltrs a day the rest being made up by recycled water.
As so much water is saved through reuse the whole cost of treatment has dramatically reduced.
