Juice Trials with Major Canadian Processor

 19th October 2019

MicroTek Processes Ltd, a global provider of specialist UV systems for the treatment of fluids and juices is delighted to announce that they have been selected to undertake trials with a major Canadian processor using their MP5 UV fluid treatment system.

The closed vessel UV system being provided will be used to trial both log reduction in the juices and as an add-on process to HTST treatment for extended shelf life. The customer is ultimately looking for non-thermal treatment for all its juices currently they only have a short shelf life as no pretreatment is given to the juices they produce.

Additionally the client will be trialing the use of the MP5 for their use of raw milk for cheese processing another application that the MP5 can be used for.

Allan Slater CEO of MicroTek said: “We are extremely pleased with the outcome of this scheme as it affirms again that our system is a major contender for combining high log reductions of pathogens on the raw milk together with extended shelf life applications following conventional pasteurisation. Our UV lamps are very versatile and this enables us to design and develop “tailored” products to the customer’s requirements as well as having a portfolio of standard products covering fluid surface and air purification applications”
