MicroTek’s High Efficiency Plasma system is an electrodeless lighting platform that uses radio frequency (RF) in the microwave range to create a high intensity plasma discharge.

Our technology does not use the RF or Microwaves directly to eliminate any micro organisms, be it pathogen or not. There is no heating process and we convert the RF energy into various light plasmas, the type of plasma and spectral emission produced being dependent on the type of light that we wish to produce.

For pasteurisation applications, we produce a virtually monochromatic 254nm wavelength germicidal UV light. This light destroys any micro organisms through disruption within the DNA helix which prevents the cell from replicating.

Due to the unique design we offer a 3 year (26,280hrs) warranty on our bulbs.

The bulbs contain no electrodes so there is nothing to burn out. RF microwave energy resonating within the lamp ionizes the gas to form a plasma which emits ultraviolet light peaking at 254 nm.

Using our technology and by changing the lamp characteristics, we are able to operate lamps from 100-1100nm in wavelength, which enables us to provide solutions not only for germicidal disinfection but also for a range of other UV light applications.
